Alltel Informative - Public Service Awful
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I have been trying to cancel my Alltel account since August 2007. I returned all the equipment that was given to me within the grace period of 14 days. All seemed good. I keep on receiving a bill from them showing that I owe them money. Each time I call I am reassured that the account has been zeroed out, but this is not the case.
At 7:20 am eastern time on Wednesday February 27 I mad another call and spoke with support. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I asked three times and was told that there is no supervisor. I asked for a confirmation number that the account has been closed. I was told that there is no confirmation number.
This looks bad indeed. No confirmation number, no record of what is been done on the phone. IS this company trying to avoid some audit process. I would ask where the number is so auditors can take care of checking the steps and that the consumer is protected. I spoke with someone called Steve. I have no extension number and no way to verify anything occurred as I am writing this, except my phone record showing that I spent some time on a call with Alltel support.
These business procedures are protecting Alltel and not the consumer. How many people keep paying these bills? And this goes on and on.
I will keep on searching and reading on how I can publicly have this business attitude of Alltel known.
DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE.
