Woot Compliment - Woot.com Rocks!
For those of you that have never heard of woot.com, they are one of the original deal of the day sites. They offer one item a day at midnight central time at a discounted price. They are mostly electronics and usually stuff that is a bit older, but you can get some great deals.
I have been buying from them since 2004 and have purchased over 30 items from them. Their FAQ on their site makes it clear they are a sell off site and they run a very thin organization (they've expanded over the years and have gotten a much bigger staff). They tell not to expect top notch customer service but they will do everything they can to make any issues right, it just might take a little longer. Over the years, I've had one or two small issues with things not arriving in a timely fashion or broken items arriving. They've always made it right for me either by sending out new items (without having to return the broken item) or by refunding my shipping due to longer than expected wait times. They've even proactively refunded shipping charges without me ever complaining to them about the lengthy ship times.
They recently went, what I feel, is above and beyond the normal level of customer service. I purchase an item during their woot-off (where they keep posting one item after another until it sells out over a 24 to 48 hr period). The item was listed as $7.99 with $5 shipping (the shipping is always fixed at $5 no matter what you order, even if it's a 61" DLP TV). I thought it was a good price and bought it. It arrived quickly and I was happy with it, then out of the blue the other day I received an email from them stating that the item was accidently keyed in at the wrong price, it should have been $3.99 so they had already credited my credit card for the difference.
Way to go Woot! They could have easily kept my extra $4 and I never would have known, nor cared but they were honest with their customers and did the right thing. Thanks Woot!
