Medco Complaint - Filling a Prescription
I am a type 1 diabetic, and really try to lead a healthy life. I test my sugars up to 20 times per day. After my doctor sent my prescription in, I received my test strips 2 weeks later. The prescription clearly states that I was to obtain a 90 day supply, and I received a 1 month supply. I called them and they told me that the prescription stated a one month supply, which I immediately told them was incorrect as my doctor had sent me a copy of the prescription in case Medco screwed up, as they had in the past. Then they said I test too much and insurance doesn't cover it and I could try and fill out a form in order to release more test strips. After many WEEKS of phone calls, I got the situation straightened out. I just wonder how they have the power to refute a doctor's prescription. If she says I need that many test strips, I need that many test strips.
I am going through a similar issue with my insulin, and they are not sending me the amount that I need to live. I only use them because I have to through my insurance. If you can avoid them, do so!
