DirecTV Inc Informative - Shady business practices
OLYMPIA, WASHINGTON -- I am of the opinion that Direct TV, uses underhanded, misleading trickery, and out-right lies, to lock consumers into one of their contracts. Since the so-called contracts are in two parts, and one can only be seen on-line, I do not believe that they are legally binding. But then - I'm not an attorney. The word needs to go out so that other, unknowing people don’t become victims too. I cannot believe that Direct TV has been allowed to get away with manipulating the public (its customers), into unknowingly, signing unfair, contract commitments. I’m shocked that this hoodlum company has been allowed to stay in business. My goal is to warn the public, and to stir action into those who can regulate this rogue company. I’m tired of them being able to rip-off innocent, unknowing people, by using shady, unfair practices, which include outright lies. I’ve experienced the lies, and the trickery, first hand, as a customer of Direct TV, for a period of seven days. I’ve experienced the poor workmanship. I’ve experienced the inept customer services. And now, I’m experiencing the cost, of early cancellation fees totaling $340. In an effort to save my credit, I must pay the costs. Perhaps this warning will persuade one of you to investigate, and read that contract - the entire thing - before you sign it. I’ve read many of your complaints, and I feel your frustration – I’ve been there. It’s to bad that one, or more of us don’t have the knowledge it takes, to unite all of these “Anti- Direct TV People (ADTVP), and do something about it. I’m going to get my $340 worth of satisfaction, just by voicing my opinion. I’ve written an opinion for my local newspaper. I've written my opinion on some on-line sites. I've written letters to Congressmen, and all other pertinant representatives. And, I've written to the Governor. The Governor gave me the Complaints Dept. of the Better Business Bureau, where I've voiced my opinion, read the rebuttal from DIRECTV, and sent my rebuttal back to them. It must have raised some eyebrows - I've been contacted by a collection agency.
Well, I guess they want to play!! Okay. You will soon see the results of the "game" on TV. It's my turn now. When it happens, I hope that you will join me in the movement. But I've got to warn you - they're gonna get MAD! Especially since they are the ones that furnished us with the ability to do it. It's all legal, and within our rights. You just watch for reports about DIRECTV on TV. Think how much attention would come from more than just my ations. Imagine if all of us combined our efforts into one big movement. Just imagine the impact we could have on the future practices of a shoddy company like Direct TV.
