McDonald's Corporation Complaint - Over charging - Over Pricing and lack of care for over charging
SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA -- I frequent McDonald's #2021 @ 240 E. 40th St in San Bernardino Ca. Today 10/3/03 I took my daughter and I looked for the first time at my receipt because I felt for some reason that I paid too much. Sure enough. I ordered my daughter a cheeseburger happy meal which is 2.29+ tax. And it rang up as 2.59+tax. I went to the front to get my money and they gave it back to me w/o the tax included, totalling 30 cents. They proceded to tell me that they have been having over pricing problems with the happy meals and apple pies, both ringing up 30 cents over since 'they' came and re-did the computers. And I can tell you just from the time I was there that there were at least 4 happy meals and 4 apple pies ordered in 20 minutes. so thats 1.80 extra that was charged to the customers. And even though the managers knew this they never tried to double check to see if each customer was being over charged and return their change to them. I would think that they would want this, but it seemed to me by the manager on duty that he did not really care and that he just wanted to give me my money, even if I was not correct so I would just leave and not let any one else know. Now, outside of this, there are constant problems with things breaking down and/or not working properly. Customer service is not in the top 50 percent of the restaurants that I attend. Its just my luck that the closest McDonalds to me is even worse than this one, but the closest good McDonalds is too far for me to travel. So, my visits are not as frequent as they once were. Though I enjoy the food and the playgrounds for my daughter, I just feel that this is not enough for me to keep going to McDonalds in the future. NOw, I will go back in to the above mentioned McDonalds some time this week and I hope that things will have changed by then. For if not I will have no choice but to let more and more people know so they don't have to worry about being over charged.
