Sony Electronics Inc Complaint - Don't buy a Sony Digital Camera
MICHIGAN CITY, INDIANA -- I recieved a Sony digital camera on Valentines Day from my husband, and less than 6 months later it quit working. The only mode that would work was the playback mode. The camera was never dropped or anything. I went to sony.com and saw that they had the same problem I was having with the older version of the camera so I called and they wanted me to pay $180 to send it to them to have a diagnostics test ran on it plus I would have to pay whatever the parts and labor was to have it fixed. My husband originally paid $250 for the camera and I didn't want to spend anymore on it. I called back at a later date and they said that it was still under warrenty so I would only have to pay $140 for the diagnostics test plus parts and labor. I don't think so. If this is the type of customer service that sony provides I will never buy another sony product again. And my husband and I will let everyone we know what has happened to us, and that is a lot of people since we are both martial arts instructors in a big town.
