Clay Cooley Complaint - Lemon Car - Car Sales

Review by chasaty on 2008-03-11
DESOTO, TEXAS -- I had put a down payment for a 2003 Chrysler Sebring on Friday, March 7, 2008. On Saturday March 4, 2008 when I went to purchase my vehicle one of the sales clerk had already sold the car that I had made a down payment on and so the sales clerk sold me a 2004 Chevy Malibu and since I purchased this car I have been having car trouble with it. I have taken it back several times for it to get some work on it and it still is not running right.

I want to return this car and receive my down payment back from this company. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I don't know the laws where you live, but in the state of CA there is no "cooling off period" as it is called, meaning once your back tires cross out of the lot, the car is yours to keep.

It's probably a little late to change your mind. Frankly, after they sold the original car you put a down payment on I would have demanded my money back and gone elsewhere. And when buying a used car, always have it checked out be a reputable mechanic you trust before closing the sale.

Sorry Chasaty, the program does not work that way...you signed for it--you bought it!

Anyone else find it odd that someone put a deposit on a car that was sold 3 days earlier????
