Coolomon Holiday Apartments Complaint - Coolomon Apartments Gold Coast Terrible Time!!

Review by ELM90 on 2008-03-14
GOLD COAST -- Hey guys,

Last year a friend and I stayed at the Coolomon holiday apartments in the gold coast! This was the time of schoolies also...The owner hates schoolies and didn't want any schoolies kids staying there. She assumed we were there for schoolies.. One night we went out and came back she started swearing at us and assuming we went to schoolies and thretened to kick us out!!! Btw she lives at the hotel..Her mother who is like 60 even pushed and shoved us...

I'm planning to take legal action on this lady and her mother though I don't know who to talk to or where to go?? We can not get past this experience and it still haunts us! I am to scared to travel alone without my parents now.. im 18 years old and my dream to travel has been crushed because of this experience...

Do yoruselfs a favor and DO NOT stay at the COOLOMON hotel...Mainly people who are young!!

I don't think anyone should stay there anyway the place is disgusting...we found crockroaches in the bathroom and in the kitchen...To make things worst the sheets look like they hadn't been washed it was disgusting....

Horrible experience! I hope no one has to go through this!

if this happened last year, it may be a little late. if you are 18 now, then that meant you were 17 then, if they actually touched you, you could have called the police.

I guess there are always 2 sides to every story. You were nice and peaceful when you came back to the hotel and this person started swearing at you and pushing you around? I would like to hear the 'rest of the story'.

And, if you are seroius about your "dream to travel" do not let one bad experience stop you.

What's a schoolie?

Schoolies or Schoolies week (known as Leavers' or Leavers' week in Western Australia) refers to the Australian tradition of high-school graduates (known as "Schoolies" or "Leavers") having week-long holidays following the end of their final exams in late November and early December.

Sounds like our Spring break the kids have.
Don't let this one experience ruin your desire to travel. You will find places like this here and there, but there are alot of good ones between them...it's all a part of the travel adventure and experiences. The good experiences will always be worth it, but I wouldn't advise anyone to travel alone...get with some family or friends that you trust who have the same interests that you have...and go have the time of your life...and remember...don't put anything valuable in your checked luggage, take it in your carry on and always keep your Target Receipts!

I had a feeling that's what it was. Thanks DB.
