Home Depot Complaint - Closed Credit Still Gets Charged
After a billing dispute four years ago I closed my home depot credit card. This past summer my husband applied for another card to get the promotional deal of no interest or payments for 12mos. His name was not on the account I had opened four years ago. He made a large purchase which we ended up cancelling due to finding the materials at another lumber yard for less. We never even received the order. Somehow Home Depot not only charged my husbands account but also charged my closed account, therefore being charged twice. Only one order could be refunded from the store so we were directed by their accounting department, who contacted customer service that it would be on them to make the credit, not the store. Six months later this is still in limbo- the bill is getting bigger due to them not holding to the promo and customer service told me it was my job to fix it??? I did not mess up to begin with, the store did and how can I refund my account.
Month after month we call to get this resolved to no avail. We were billed twice for the same order on two separate cards, an order we never received. It is not rocket science. The lesson learned- pay cash if you are going to shop at home depot!
