Orbitz Complaint - Dishonest!
I booked a roundtrip flight to Europe through Orbitz. The only reason I went with them instead of going directly to the airline is because their site says "select your seat before you purchase." I selected. I purchased. My email itinerary arrived - no mention of my seat reservations. I called - they told me they don't actually guarantee the seats. (So what is the point of this option, other than to make you choose their company?) I complained - an hour later a supervisor got a conference call going with an airline person who told me they don't reserve seats. They can stick you anywhere they want although you are under the impression that you have chosen your seats through Orbitz. You will only find this out when you board the plane, when it is too late to do anything about it. This is fraud!!!!
I wanted a window seat so that I could sleep and not be stuck between two strangers for 11 hours.
Maybe it's a small issue, but it's the PRINCIPLE! Called back. Supervisor promised to talk to a supervisor at airline next day and would email me. Nothing for 3 days.
I'm going to call them back right now because I'm sick of being ripped off every 5 minutes by these large corporations that treat consumers like dirt and get away with lying to us. Nobody protects us from these practices and you can never reach anyone who is willing to help - just more liars. The only thing we can do is boycott these companies and warn other people.
