Intuit Complaint - Intuit's Support Charges & Lack Of Service - Quickbooks Support

Quickbooks Support - Complaint
Review by norcalreviewer on 2008-03-17
BAY AREA, CALIFORNIA -- I am thoroughly disgusted with Intuit's customer service policies. Clearly, this company's CS managers ignore the "customer service" part of their job mandate.

Not only does Intuit charge exhorborant prices (over $200 a year for telephone support, or $49 per email support), but their support comes in the form of canned scripts and cut-n-paste responses. They don't supply worthwhile patches to some of the most glaring Quickbooks problems (i.e. compatibility with the newest Microsoft products -- which is a highlight of their marketing campaign, ironically enough; they launch a product as a 'beta' and expect their users to find the bugs for them, ala Microsoft style), nor do they make it easy for you to find what you need on their website (which forces you to call them up, and then they've gotcha with the support charge). Blatantly, I got more help from Geeksquad computer forums than I did from Intuit's "customer service experts."

Overall, the impression Intuit has left me with is that they don't really care to help you solve your problem, nor do they intend on launching a quality product to market; they just want to take your money, and for you to go away as quickly as possible.

I use QB Pro. Whenever I have a problem I go to their user forums. 99.9% of the time an answer/solution will be found. Case in point: Recently QB wouldn't start at all. Searching the forum found that the cause was a recent update to Netframework which hosed QB. QB techs had no answer but a user did discover how to remove the update and reload it. My cost was the time to find the answer.
