David's Bridal Complaint - They sold my identity
CALIFORNIA -- On a very busy shopping day I squeezed in a visit to David's Bridal in San Jose (with appointment) and was shown lots of dresses that were not my dream dress but were very practical answers for my wedding dress needs. I then wanted to show a few of the styles to family, so I made an appointment on a quiet shopping day at the Milpitas store which was more convienient for them.
The sales woman was not attentive at all. I had to search out the styles myself, and had no help at all in dressing or zipping. When I had questions the answers were always "I don't know" and were never followed by an offer to find out.
In the weeks that have followed, every bit of my personal information collected by David's Bridal has been sold to dozens of third party vendors who now call me at home, send spam, and fill my mail box with offers no bride would ever want. It is particularly creepy to have complete strangers from companies I have never heard of call and want to discuss my wedding date, location, and the groom.
I have asked David's Bridal to produce the document on which I opted 'in' for this offer (knowing there isn't one) and they of course have just repeatedly said 'oops, sorry' and explained that all you have to do is try on a dress (which requires that you provide your personal information)and they'll sell your information - with your knowledge or not.
