Georgetown Fine Jewelry Complaint - Georgetown Jewelry Is a Scam

Review by Mezh on 2008-03-18
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- I went to Washington DC and went into a store Called Georgetown Fine Jewelry & Arts. The salesman showed me a Rolex Daytona watch. So I wanted to buy it he tells me the watch is sold but he can get me a new one if a couple of weeks. So he takes a deposit of $300 for the watch and says he will call me when it comes in. Well now it has been 3 years and I called them over and over all they tell me as thy can't get me the watch. So when I asked for my money back they told me the owner is dead and they can't give me back my money.

This place is a scam located in Washington DC At 1265 Wisconsin Ave, NW. And the owners name is Mike who they say is dead now but I spoke to last week.

3 years is a long time. I'm thinking you just need to cut your losses on this one and walk away. Sorry.

Sounds like a small claims court case to me. Who cares if the owner is dead (OK, maybe the family does), it's the business that owes you a refund.

Its not the cash its just a point. I wanted to let others know that this place does stuff like this. I just think that if you get a customer that wants to spend close to $7000 on a watch you whould take care of that customer. But Georgetown fine Jewelry Does not Care.
