Citizen's Bank Complaint - Not Typical Indeed...
STUART, FLORIDA -- Mu wife opened a Line of Credit to pay for her college back in 1997. In 2007 we paid it off in full. In fact we paid $35 extra. Two months later after realizing they were never going to cut me a check for the balance unless I asked for it, I went to the website and used their "Contact Us" section. I wrote asking for the negative balance to be returned. Six months passed and it rarely crossed my mind. Finally we get a call from Citizens saying we OWE THEM $15 for the yearly fee. We've yet to receive a bill stating this... When asked about the $35 they owe us they say they have no idea what we are talking about.
I HAVE A FREAKING STATEMENT SHOWING IT you ignorant idiots! Then, to make matters worse they won't let my wife cancel the line of credit without having her co-signer agree to it. Her co-signer lives across the country and she hardly talks to her anymore. Neither of us live in near a Citizen's bank. They make it impossible to close your account, and they make it impossible to trace communications since nothing is in paper.
Try finding an email address for someone at Citizen's. I dare you. Beware of these swindlers.
