Factory Hill Cementary Ludowici GA Informative - Final Resting Place

Review by angelssmile on 2008-03-20
LUDOWICI, HAWAII -- I just want to inform the public of something that really upset me the other day. I can't mention no names at this time. In Ludowici GA there is a cemetery that is located in the factory hill area. A real estate agency has this property. Graves are coming up from the ground and they have been vandalized, etc etc....

When I called the LADY this is the answer she gave me after I told her the problem I seen with the graves and area... ITS A BLACK CEMETERY.... that really made me sick this is a resting place for loved ones what is the difference black or white. I'm white my blood is red like everyone else's... that is so said and so well you know what I mean..

this sounds like a time to call your local telley station and file a complaint.

My goodness how disrespectful to the dead. I hope that the loved ones of these persons have made other arrangements to inter them in other places and these people are getting the respect they deserve. I've always found it rude to dissenter the dead. File a complaint and make this public. This is horrible.

Black or white, most states have enacted laws regulating cemeteries and require a certain amount of $$ to be put in a trust for perpetual maintenance.
This sounds like it may have been a family cemetery or church cemetery that was left. You might want to contact someone at a local operating cemetery for information on how to proceed.
Good Luck

While many states have statutory requirements for establishing trusts for the care of grounds, many of them are long gone. Or, the cemetery could have been established before such laws were enacted. You might make a call to the state historical society. Many states have organizations devoted to the preservation of old cemeteries.

I agree with the Doc because down the street from my Moms house there is an OLD cemetery that was being destroyed for the porous of building on the property. When she found this out she raised HOLLY HELL and called the state historical society. She all ready new it was an old black cemetery but it turned out that the people in it were mostly slaves so there was no one to fight for there rights. My mom did and it is now being restored and kept up.

Fight for what you believe is the right thing because we are ALL part of the human race; don't care what color you are we came from the same place at the same time and that is a fact.

Thanks anglessmile this post, GOOD JOB!
