United Airlines Complaint - Cancelled Flights Everywhere
VENTURA, CALIFORNIA -- On March 5th I had a family emergency and booked a flight from my home in Ventura County that morning. I was to depart at 2:00 p.m. I left my house at 10:30 to arrive at LAX by noon, go through security and make my flight. I was at my gate by 12:45. We were to start boarding at 1:30 when suddenly the flight was cancelled. No explanation, just if you want to wait until 11:00 or so that night we could catch that flight. So that would mean being up for over 24 hours before arriving at my destination, which was to be care giver to my sister who was gravely ill struggle with the after effects of chemotherapy.
I was already extremely distraught over my sister and could not care for her if I had no sleep. I was not given any option, I was told there were no more flights going to the MidWest with a seat available for me, even on another airline. This hard to believe.
I reluctantly excepted a flight the next morning, got up at 5:00 a.m. to catch a 9:00 flight. Made it to my destination.
On my return flight, the first leg stopped in Chicago before continuing to LAX. I immediately told that flight was cancelled, but I could wait 11 hours for the next flight to LAX. I was at OHARA airport at 10:00 a.m., so really it is had to believe there were no available flight going from Chicago to LAX, hum. I was rerouted, 11 hours later to Denver, then to LAX. However, the flight to LAX from Denver was then cancelled.
Unbelievable. It is the worst travel experience of my life. I have flow United years ago, my they have really gone down hill. They offered me $100 for my inconvenience. Wow, that is insulting, $100 for putting me through hell.
