Carnival Cruise Line Informative - Unbelievable problem w/Carnival Cruises
FLORIDA -- We took a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean on the Carnival Victory. The very first evening out the passengers in the cabin next to ours were drunk & having a private party (with "smuggled" alcohol in the cabin - not allowed by the cruise ship co.). The party went far into the night and despite our regular complaints to the Purser's desk, the party continued.
The next morning we complained again, and were promised the situation was solved. Of course that night it was the same all over again, however this time the party had spilled out into the hallway. The security guard came again, and as before he simply advised the people to quiet down and he then left. They continued partying.
The next morning (day 3) we discovered a letter from the Purser's office explaining that the situation had been resolved. That night was peaceful. It was to be the only peaceful night of the cruise, because the very next night, and all subsequent nights we experienced the same loud partying. The last night the party continued all night long. By this time we had given up complaining to the staff, it was clear they were afraid to do anything!
Don't let me forget to mention we had informed (before the cruise) Carnival that I had recently undergone open heart surgery and this was to be a "R&R" cruise, and I needed my sleep. This meant nothing to the staff. At the end of the cruise I was exhausted from lack of sleep.
As we left the ship, we filled out a comment card, asking that Carnival contact us concerning the serious problem we had experienced. They never bothered to contact us of course. We contacted Carnival by mail a few months later, with a detailed description of the problem. Carnival's offer: "A FREE UNLIMITED SODA CARD ON OUR NEXT CRUISE". Wow! A soda card is under $50! Now I know what Carnival values a good night's sleep at: Under $10 a night!
About $2,000 spent with carnival on a cruise, and they offer us a couple of discount drink cards. All the people we've spoken with on this issue respond with the same comment; Their offer is an insult!
We'll never go on Carnival again, especially after reading about all the other people who have had similar problems! And yes, we are planning another cruise this year, on ANY other cruise line but Carnival.
Just remember your ABC's . . . Any But Carnival!
