CameraAddict / Broadway Photo Complaint - Snake Oil salesmen still exist!

Review by DJHMcKinney on 2008-03-26
I decided to buy a home theater system for the new DLP TV I bought for Christmas. Did my research and picked the unit I wanted. Then started looking for sellers. Camera addict came up with one of the lowest prices and based on the reviews I read on the price compare website (I wish I could find it again - no doubt it was a fake site sponsored by Camera Addict) I selected them. When I saw their web site I should have run away. Just try to get any useful information from the site about shipping, return policies, etc. But, stupid me (yes, I absolutely blame myself - hopefully I can help the next person) I bought the unit anyway. I needed to exchange it for another unit - they refuse to pay for return shipping and as another reviewer said, they claim they have already shipped the replacement so unless I pay the $80 for return shipping, I will be stuck with 2 units. I will never buy anything from them again and I hope that you do not either.

They reel you in with the prices and after you place the order you start talking to the snake oil salespeople. They convince you that you need things you don't and they never tell the whole truth. At that point you are stuck - they have your credit card number and you actually start fearing that unless you agree to what they are saying they will just start charging you for anything they feel like. Then try to call the customer service number.... I have placed 12 calls and waited on hold a total of 9 hours. Finally I found the only way to get them to answer is to call the number where you buy more stuff - they ALWAYS answer that one.

Stay Away!!!

Only problem is, people don't seem to want to oil a snake nowadays.

I had very BAD experience with these guys. Bought camera for 254. After couple of days they came back saying that was asian product and if I needed a new and warranty covered product, I need to pay another 105$. They lure people, bait and switch and their staff are un-educated (burger flippers sound better than these guys)
