NetAudioAds Informative - I hope this does not catch on

Review by TomJones on 2008-03-28
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I have been doing a lot of research on online advertising and found NetAudioAds. They are offering auto played audio advertising for companies to deliver on their network of publishers.

Having heard some of the ads and seeing that they are not relevant to the content of the sites they were played on, nor did they advertise businesses even close to my location, it looks like this will be worse than redirected pop ups and automatic downloads and ruined the internet experience for a lot of people.

Auto played audio advertising would have to be one of the most offensive forms of advertising to hit the net since the invention of the pop up blockers.

Are you really Tom Jones, the greatest singer, from Las Vegas?

One more note; I am with Tom on the subject of obnoxious advertising. Did you know that if you open your browser and click on TOOLS, then MANAGE ADDONS, you can disable the SHOCKWAVE/FLASH addon. This will dramtically decrease the amount of distracting ads that play. If you reach a site that absolutely HAS to have Flash, it's easy and quick to turn back on. Very few sites actually need Flash, but they love you to have it so that they can play flashier ads at you.

Yeah this stuff is crazy. People who get yelled at when they visit a website by an advertisement for something that is not even relevant to the site is a sure way to get people to leave.
