DirecTV Inc Complaint - Contract/Lack of Information
SOUTH CAROLINA -- My husband signed up on line for Direct TV almost a year ago. He signed up for a specific service at a set amount and we got the "free programming". Because of the verbiage of the package, he was under the impression we had a 12 month contract. In the beginning we were billed for services we neither requested nor wanted. I refused to pay the excess charges and after hours and several customer service reps an agreement was finally reached. Very unhappy with the programming provided we were hoping our agreement was only one year. I have diligently searched our account information on line and have yet to find any agreement for two years and Direct TV when contacted refuses to send us our signed agreement. What I have found on their website in several locations, is what I think my husband agreed to when signing up for the service. Unfortunately, for us, we are stuck with a two year contract or will have to pay cancellation fees. Yet, Direct TV can raise their rates even though we do have a contract?
All I would ask of the company is to be forth coming, I feel violated. Is the company so underhanded and crooked they cannot furnish their contracts to customers or at least provide the contract in your account information?
