Swanson Complaint - Blatantly False Information On Package

Review by grjash on 2008-03-31
The box of "Swanson Classics Boneless Fried Chicken" clearly states that it contains "Chicken Patties". I have discovered that the product contains only a single patty. I complained to the parent company - Pinnacle Foods, LLC - and incredibly, instead of an apology and compensation, the reply tried to defend the lie so prominently displayed on the box.

Be thankful there was only one. Those meals are horrible for you. That "chicken" patty is nothing but processed meat (scraps) loaded with fillers and salt. My husband used to live off of those before we got married. One meal has over 1,000 calories, half your daily limit. Hope you had a light breakfast and lunch.

What's actually pictured on the package? Do they show more than one?

Actually, this interests me. If the box says 'chicken patties' in the plural, what was the company response in defense of placing one patty in a box so marked? How is a single 'patty' miraculously transformed into 'patties'? It is much like "I never had sex with that woman" and "I never inhaled" or "Mission Accomplished". Words either mean something, or they don't.

Ummm... The only thing that I see on the package is:

"A delicious boneless chicken patty with savory mashed potaties and a side of corn."

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place...
