United Parcel Service Complaint - United Parcel one time shipping procedure / changes
ORINDA, CALIFORNIA -- For those of you that ocassionally use UPS, at Christmas for example, be forwarned. UPS has instituted, at least in the Ca. Bay Area, a new shipping policy for one time shippers that drop off.
They no longer accept the standard green shipping form. You are required to enter the relevant information directly into one of several computer terminals at the site. The connected printer then produces a coded shipping label which is then attached to the parcel. The process is not only confusing, there are no posted instructions, time consuming, in my case if took three attempts to get an acceptable label, but just pain dumb.
Can you imagine standing in line to use a terminal at Christmas Time. When I attempted to use the system the shipping point was deserted but it still required 15 minutes to complete the process.
When I complained to UPS, I was told I might be better off having my parcel picked up. At additional cost, of course.
