Subway Complaint - Dirty, Rude, Thief, etc
HOUSTON (DAIRY ASHFORD@WESTHEIMER), TEXAS -- This is a letter I just sent to Subway:
I was very disappointed with my visit and food at this location. While waiting in line one female employee was fixing food for a young man in front of me. She was carrying on a personal conversation and obviously knew him. There was at least one other young man sitting at a table waiting. She completed his order and he and his friends left without paying as your worker did not charge his group.
When it was my turn I was greeted with “all we have is white bread”, I said that that was fine. She dug around the racks of bread, there was bread everywhere…garbage bags of it on the floor. She turned back around and sliced the bread, not asking what size or type of sandwich we wanted. She proceeded to ask about cheese, moved down and then I asked for the roasted chicken. She then told my friend and I they were out of chicken and an array of other things she then listed. She seemed VERY annoyed as my friend and I debated what to have…which took less than 20 seconds. We settled on something else and moved on. As she was moving along we noticed she was wearing a fuzzy Elmo backpack as she worked. This seems unsanitary and I would assume against a dress code. When the sandwiches were complete my friend especially made a point to have no mustard on her sandwich. Your employee cut my sandwich, which had heavy mustard on it and then used the same knife to cut my friends sandwich, getting mustard all over the middle of it. We had to cut off those sides of the sandwich at home.
In the future, if your store was out of major ingredients, i.e. bread, meats, mayonnaise, etc. I, as I’m sure other customers, would appreciate a quick, handwritten sign at the front of the line letting us know as to not waste our time, your employee’s time or food.
Also, if you have surveillance cameras in your store I would urge you to review the tapes for the day and time I listed. While some might excuse sloppy, dirty, and generally rude behavior, I would hope that stealing would not be overlooked.
It will be quite a while, if ever, before I again frequent this particular location. I hope the next time I do it can be a pleasant experience with a clean environment and polite, well trained employees.
Very Truly Yours,
