Comcast Corporation Complaint - Customer Service - Cable TV And High Speed Internet
CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA -- I thought we'd suffered enough when it took two months to solve a problem with our TV reception. At that time, we couldn't get certain stations and were told that the problem was due to squirrels chewing on the lines. (It was, but it took from November 2007 through January 2008 to find the lines that needed to be replaced. We were told that it was because the service people don't like to climb the poles so after replacing the line from the pole to our house, they didn't look any further). Then in February, we lost both TV and internet service for two days. But that's not all; on April 1, we lost both TV and internet service. Today is April 5 and despite MULTIPLE service calls and work orders, we are still without service.
Let me describe how Comcast service calls work. First we call Comcast (April 1) and they schedule a service call for a day or two later. The service person comes out (April 2) and verifies that we are correct in that we have no service. Then he schedules a networking service call. A day or two later, one of the networking service people comes to the neighborhood (April 3) and checks out the lines. He changes something, declares a victory and leaves without checking to see if it makes any difference in our service (it didn't, but it helped some of our neighbors, who were also without service). Then, when we still have no service, we call again (April 3). Comcast then schedules a service call and we start the process over again. Today (April 5), someone from Comcast came to our house and verified that we still have no service. He is not a networking person, so he has to schedule another networking call for us.
Is this any way to run a company? I doubt it. We haven't decided what to do about internet service, but we are definitely switching to satellite TV next week! (FYI, in case you are wondering how I managed to send this posting without Comcast internet service, it's because I found a wireless network that lets me do it for free).
