Sears Informative - Beware Of The Sneaky Practices Of Sears Mastercard
PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY -- I purchased exercise equipment from Sears at Christmas on their 6 month no interest promo.
I divided the payments into 6 equal payments and set them up on my bank bill pay for the due date on the first statement received in December which was 12/26. Thankfully I looked at my last statement which would have been the final payment and saw the due date was now 4/16...10 days sooner. If I hadn't noticed this they would have received the last payment after the promo expiration date and charged me late fees and interest. Paid the balance and will never use card again. Also, note on your payment slip, there is a Signature line.
I'm sure a lot of people just sign this and mail in their payment but if you sign it they enroll you in some Account Care plan...there is a statement about this on the slip but could easily be overlooked. READ CAREFULLY!
