Sears Complaint - Poor customer service
FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I went to the Sears at Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville, NC to purchase a freezer. I purchase it and pick it up with no problems. I live approximately 20 miles away, and I would had to get help putting it in my house. The freezer top was badly damaged. I called the local store back, and they said I would have to bring the freezer back for an exchange. I thought that was an inconvenience to myself since they are the ones who sold me a damaged product. I was told someone from the corporate center now handles all there exchanges and returns and someone from there would call me. I spoke to someone that day and she stated she would replace the freezer and would call the next day for delivery info. It was four days and have not heard anything. I called the local store again because they have to call the corporate center. The sales associate called back and stated that she was told it was being processed. She could not tell me how long that takes. I felt like I was being pushed around, so I took the freezer back for a return.
The sales associate had to call the corporte center before she could process my return. I was handed the phone where I spoke to a lady. She was very rude and sarcastic with me. She first told me that I couldn't return the freezer because it was being processed. I ask what exactly does being process mean, and how long does that take. She could not answer that. Anyway, after a lot of aggreviation, the freezer is now return.
I have been a very good customer at Sears. I will never purchase anything else from them again.
