Ultimate Van Lines Complaint - Ripoff Moving Company - Moving Company
Complaint

3-24 Ultimate Van Lines loaded a truck with all my belongings, supposedly to move me from OH to GA. The first driver charged me $600 more than what I already paid-and asked for a $100 tip at the end of the job. He said I should call dispatch the next day to find out when to expect truck in GA. The salesman said 2-5 days, 4-1 at the very latest. Dispatch NEVER answered their line. I rarely got any response from the numerous emails and phone calls I made just wanting to know where by belongings were and when I could expect the truck. I waited in my new empty apartment 18 days-Tina (Manager) called and said the truck would arrive the next day and I needed to pay the balance $986 before he would come. She emailed me a blank form and I put the balance on my credit card, reminding her I had a $100 coupon off their website to redeem.
Two days later, the truck arrived and the driver said I owed him cash of $986 before he would open the truck or he would take it all back to OH. I showed him my payment receipt and he said "Tina knows I need cash." I had no choice but to pay him-he said Tina would credit my credit card (as of today-that's not been done) The first item they took off was my couch which now had a broken, unrepairable leg. The first load of clearly marked boxes "FRAGILE/GLASS" they dropped off the dolly and broke all the contents. My dining room table is of no use-all the bolts/screws were lost. All glass was packed carefully in newspaper and bubble-wrap. I didn't realize they would be throwing my boxes around and dropping them off the truck. They advertise "customer service." Once you hire them, they do not care. They do not answer their phone or respond to email. They are the biggest ripoff company I've ever dealt with.
I complained to the Ohio Attorney General, The Better Business Bureau (which supposedly has their seal of approval) and everyone else I can find. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!
