Dish Network Complaint - I Got A Plate Full Of Dish
I am sick to my stomach. I have had ordeals, but never like this. I thought I had seen it all, until I got to reading other reviews. Now I am shocked once again. Of every upsetting thing, I am finding that the way I was treated is absolutely ROUTINE. Here's what to expect from Dish:
-dishonesty - lies from everyone you speak to, to many to mention. Try to find an honest one in there, I dare you. It would be easier.
-uncaring - can you imagine how many complaints they deal with? After a while it is a supreme game, them against you. All they want is for the day to get over, you to shut up and hang up.
Don't expect them to tell you a better rate, bargain, special or available service voluntarily. It is up to you to demand what they promise...and get it in writing!
-HOURS of wasted time - hoping you will give up!
-on HOLD literally for HOURS
-waiting for installers that don't show or call - this one can take DAYS
-endless automatic menus
-incompetence, well maybe not complete. someone gets to watch TV sometime.
-no customer service
-Denial - they will tell you they have nothing to do with installers..but one hand feeds the other. Installers, also will blame Dish for everything. Works out pretty good for both.
-you will sign an incomprehensible contract
-all of the multiple installers that have come to my houses, when they do show have tried to get me to sign a contract, even tho they were unable to provide any service, let alone satisfaction with service. Don"t' sign!
-make them show you that everything and I mean everything works before you sign.
- 3 inch holes in walls
-damage to siding, and roofs from jumping, etc. They will not respect your property.
check for damage before they leave and watch them work. One guy was in my fridge!
note any damage on the contract you sign.
-get any promise in writing or foget it.
-substandard work. Some of it unbelievable.
-harassment. try to quit them! You are forced to threaten this before anyone will promise you any resolution...even tho they are probably lying anyway once you get one of those on.
-billing problems, unresolved billing problems
-installers will do anything to get you to sign off and get out of there with the least amount of work done. Even tho its a real live person there, assume he's lying and wants to cheat you.
He makes more than minimum wage that way.
- I want to say watch your credit cards and don't leave any loose change lying around, but you are going to give them cart blanch on your credit card anyway, so forget that, you have to pretty much trust them!
-rudeness - routine
-someone who is payed to listen, but tired of hearing it.
-unintelligible communication skills, I think required for employment.
-employees are trained and paid an incentive to treat us the way they do. It is all to maximize profits
-disgruntled, bitter customers, like me who complain constantly.
I'll bet they put you on hold while they turn the pages, and read the Punjab newspaper while you are complaining.
So, after some thought, I have decided that my complaint should be about myself. After all, why would I subject myself to this abuse? I must need them worse than they need me. It is nice having satellite TV. And they know it. Why do I need all those channels so bad?
So, how will it end? Why would they change if they can outsource the call center, and have untrained personnel insulate them from their customers (I really should say VICTIMS, because we are. We are held hostage by this company, due to lack of competition and the other 2 are not any better). They will hire untrained, poorly equipped installers for minimum wage, and why shouldn't they? They are in it for the money. And why shouldn't they be?
I am trying to look at it from their side to find a way in for a solution. Obviously, anyone who could make a decision to change their operation into an ethical one is not interested in talking to us. They spend a lot of money to assure that. Is there anyone who will represent us? Far be it from me to ask for help from the government...yet another bureaucratic monster...but it may come to that.
Boycott? Its to big, to much trouble, and we like the TV to much.
I think a better way might to play their own game against them. We need lawyers and lots of them! Lawyers that will find out who the stockholders are, and threaten their bottom line.
They are gonna shut me off again for saying all of this. They shut my TV on the last hole of the Masters yesterday! But yes, lawyers that could treat to wrap them up in litigation forever! Oh, they have lawyers, too, I'll bet. And airtight contracts that we all sign. Ahhhhhhh And who's gonna pay our lawyers?
Well, I give up.
No, no I don't. There are two things that will beat them. One is competition. If we started a company, or bought theirs and ran it with integrity, we could rake in every customer eventually. I would even pay more.
The other is communication. Isn't it ironic that a communication company is so lousy at communication? They may be hand in hand with the media, but how about some free advertising on 60 Minutes, or Dateline NBC? Have one of them moles call with a request to add a DVR or something, then record all the calls, and film the cruddy guy they send out. I'll bet they would have a hey day with it. But then, where are you going to air the program? Big money buys protection from such things. But not to sound hopeless...I am thinking of giving up completely...maybe investing in Dish. lol
Oh, one that apparently does work is contesting the charges thru your credit card company or bank!
Forgive me Lord.
