David's Bridal Complaint - Unbelievable Customer Service
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA -- My best friend is getting married in August. I am the maid of honor and she has 5 other bridesmaids. We all bought our dresses at David's Bridal.
To begin the bride told the consultant we first dealt with that she wanted the color fushia for her bridesmaids. The consultant replies that they have no color "named" fuschia but that azalea was the same thing. So we picked out dresses and sashes and ordered them. I ordered my dress in February, here it is April and I still haven't received it. My sash came in however, and low and behold, azalea is in no way hot pink as fuschia is so often described. Its purplish pink and not hot. The bride decided to go with the new color and work around it. There really wasn't enough time to come up with a totally different scheme. She shook it off and now she was wondering why a couple of bridesmaids payed more for their dresses than others and was then told that the dress I ordered along with 2 other bridesmaids were different and cheaper than the dresses 3 other bridesmaids ordered. Here is where the bride lost it.
3 months into dress planning and we find out NOW that 3 bridesmaids will be in one style dress and 3 in a completely different dress. Any bride would have been a little upset, this is the most important day of her life after all, for such a big mistake.
Upon changing my order and that of the other bridesmaids the consultant tells us we will be required to pay the difference for the proper dresses...Their mistake but we have to pay for it basically. At this point we are all completely disgusted by the woman "helping" us. She admitted they had made the mistake but still expected us to pay for it.
Several loud words and bridal hysteria later and this "helpful" woman finally calls a supervisor who okays the first price and all is well.
I cannot believe a mistake like this could have been made at a place as reputable as David's Bridal. A wedding is the one instance where wardrobe mistakes are unacceptable. Then to be so callous as not to fix the mistake a member of your staff made is inexcusable.
I will never recommend David's Bridal to anyone I know again. I am utterly disgusted with their Clearwater, FL. location.
