Scott's Miracle-Gro Informative - Recall: EPA orders Scotts Miracle-Gro to recall 'Shake 'n Feed' product
MARYSVILLE, OHIO -- MARYSVILLE, Ohio -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says it has ordered Ohio-based Scotts Miracle-Gro and three affiliates to stop selling and using pesticides that are unregistered, mislabeled and illegal.
A spokesman for the Marysville-based lawn and garden company says it has agreed to recall "Miracle-Gro Shake 'n Feed All Purpose Plant Food plus Weed Preventer."
The EPA says the product is also sold as "Garden Weed Preventer + Plant Food."
King says the company's lawn service has also stopped using a product the EPA ordered it to stop using.
The EPA says the pesticides include invalid EPA registration numbers.
The agency and the state agriculture department are analyzing them to determine if they pose any risk.
King says the company is conducting its own investigation into the registration matter.
