Commonwealth Edison Company Compliment - Power Outage

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Good Morning!
Early this morning approximately 1:00AM I was awakened by a loud sound and then I was in total darkness. All electrical was out. After I got my bearings I went to the window and saw Police Lights and shortly after a Com Ed. truck. I waited to hear loud speakers or a knock on my door if there was an emergency. When there were no more sounds just activity I went back to sleep having faith that the police and Com Ed had everything under control. This morning I awoke to electricity, lights, and all the comforts of home. I was able to make a cup of coffee, prepare breakfast, wash a load of clothes,and do the normal everyday activities we often take for granted.
Please let the night crew know that I appreciate the good work that was done overnight so that I could begin my family's day with all the comforts of home. I know it's there job. They did it well.

The news media likes to make a villan out of "BIG POWER" companys like ComEd. ComEd has done a good job maintaining and improving the infustructure. Not too long ago, they replaced underground cable, on my property, that was causing power outages. ComEd should also be commended for restoring power in a timely manner during power outages.
A big complaint about the power companies is their rates. While I do like not like to pay BIG bucks for electricity, I do not have a problem paying for reliable service. It cost a lot of money to provide power to the community, and those guy who climb the poles to restote power during the rain or snow storms, deserve to be paid the BIG bucks for such a dangergous job!

DTE in our area does a great job also. Funny how some users take such things for granted when all goes well and then throw a fit when during a severe ice storem power is interrupted. Good review.
