Cox Communications Inc Complaint - Billing / Refund Check
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I requested home COX cable and telephone service to be terminated as of March 02, 2008. COX charged me more than $300.00 pending return of both equipments. The cable box was returned via FEDEX to COX Cable on March 1, 2008 and the telephone modem was also returned via FEDEX on March 15, 2008. According to the customer service reps I have spoken to on the phone towards the last week of March, a check refund was going to be sent to me within 4 to 6 weeks. I questioned why the refund process takes so long and all they could say to me was that this was the standard procedure.
I called COX again on April 29, 2008 and they said it takes 6 to 8 weeks to process the refund check. I was unhappy with this changed response so I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was put on hold for about 20 minutes. I had to hang up because it was taking forever. I called again and spoke to a different rep who said to me that it takes 8 to 12 weeks or up to three months. I got frustrated because I was being given inconsistent information.
It seems that COX customer service reps are not giving correct and consistent information to their customers. It is very unfair for such a big company to take a terribly long time to return the customer’s hard-earned money but very quick to debit charges to the customer’s bank account and not give the customer the accurate information they need as to when to expect their money back.
