Ford Motor Complaint - Ford Remanufactured Motors
MICHIGAN -- In May of 2002 we had a Ford Remanufacturer Motor installed in my daughters 1995 Ford Explorer. The first motor failed in just a few weeks and a second motor was installed. In less than a month the rear main seal started to leak and was replaced. In June of 2003 the truck was leaking again and the heads were so bad that they had to be replaced. This was supposed to be a remanufacturer motor. The service manager at McDonald Ford in Freeland, MI ( a different dealer than the one who installed the motor) began having concerns to the quality of the motor. In July of 2003 the rear main seal that was replaced the year before started leaking again! According to Ford this is not covered under the 36 month warranty. Our dealer tried to get the motor replaced but had as much luck as I did.
I have gone around with Ford for months on this and at this point would like my $4952.46 back or have the motor replaced. I guess Ford approves of their dealers selling junk motors but for that kind of money I'm not buying it. Ford lets their dealers install junk motors and when the problems start, they play stupid and say there is nothing they can do. What a rip off
