Gold's Gym International, Inc Complaint - Membership Cancellation
KENNESAW, GEORGIA -- My husband and I have been trying to cancel our membership to Gold's Gym in Acworth, GA since March 3, 2008. After following all the guidelines on the back of our contract and the additional directions by the representatives, we are still being sent notices by ABC Financial Services, Inc. for membership dues that should have already been cancelled. My husband even went and paid the final balance just to stop the notices and the next month we received another notice. They even gave him the wrong total for cancelling both our memberships. I've kept notes of every date, time, person and conversation I've had with Gold's Gym and still nothing is done. To add to the problem, the representative from the Kennesaw office (which is the one that handles the cancellations) hasn't returned any phone calls, and for the two times we've gone in to speak with her, she hasn't been there, or just stepped out, although after one back-to-back phone call where she supposedly wasn't there, the next person said she was with someone and would have her phone me back - NOT -. This company's customer service, training, capability in job performance leaves much to be desired.
Individually it doesn't seem much is getting accomplished, but with a class action lawsuit, complaints to the BBB, flooding their Corporate office with complaints, writing pieces for our local newspapers, and speaking with our local television investigative reporters, we may be able to get something done. I'm researching information that will begin an investigation into the dysfunctional practices used to handle the cancellation of memberships to Gold's Gym.
