Wal-Mart Complaint - Attacked in a Walmart store in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- My story begins with my daughter and I going to Wal-Mart in Philadelphia on Columbus Blvd. on Friday, May 2, 2008 at approximately 8:30pm. After completing our shopping we proceeded to get in the check out line where there were two young men in line already almost finish checking out when we came along and there was a shopping cart in the aisle before you get to the counter at the check out. I asked the two young men if that was there cart and they said it belong to some lady she just left the cart. I looked around and didn’t see anyone so I when around the cart and starting placing my items on the counter. A few minutes later a woman appeared and said I think I was next. My response to that was you would have been next if you were here.
My items by now were already on the counter to be checked out. She was not happy about the situation and started calling us all kinds of names and using foul language. Some one from the store approached us and said to her that she would take her at the next counter. All I could think about at the time was getting out of there. Behind us were 6 young girls about the ages of 18-21. They decided to start chiming in because they felt that we were ganging up on this woman. I am a 58 year old woman with many medical conditions and my daughter also has many medical problems and also had her 4 year old son with us so I don’t think we where in any condition to take on 6 young girls or for that matter anyone else.
They proceeded to start cursing us and calling us all kinds of names and final my daughter came back at them until one of them punch my daughter in the face and then another one followed suite. I started to tried to help my daughter (who is a very small frame girl) and was punched in the face by one of the young girls then another hit me and someone threw a 2 gal. bottle of laundry detergent at me and hit me in the back. In the meantime the entire store was on pause. No one made a sound as my daughter and I were being attacked in this store. The management never came to our rescued and I could not believe they even aloud this to go on and get this far without intervening. This was unbelievable.
Now by this time our faces were bleeding and blood was everywhere and my grandson was hysterical and the management of this store didn’t even ask us if were okay or if we need any can of medical care. Instead he helped them to leave the store even after I asked him not to let them go. This was a total disgraced and I will never shop in this store again and will make sure that everyone that I come in contact with hears about this story. We were also informed that the no one put a tape in the camera. That was just great. What a store. Entering a Wal-mart store is like taking your life in your own hands. Don’t expect any help.
