Sun Country Airlines Complaint - Overcharged for Flight by $140.00

Review by kyleandrenee on 2003-10-27
I purchased two airline tickets online through Suncountry.com. on 10/25/03. During my search process, I had more than one browser window open. When I purchased the tickets, it automatically transferred information from a closed window into the open window, resulting in the wrong tickets being purchased. I immediately contact Sun Country (within 3 mins of the purchase) and was told that the problem could be fixed. I then got cut off before the mistake was rectified, because the reservation center closed (8:30 pm central time on Sat, 10/25/03). When I called the following day and spoke with the lead agent (Ray), I was informed that the flights could be changed to what I had agreed to purchase but the difference in the flight price would not be refunded. The difference is $140.00 in the airlines favor. I was informed that if the fare was higher, I would have been responsible for the difference, but because it is lower, I will not receive a refund.

I now have the flight I want, but I am being forced to pay $140 more than market value for the flight. The only reason I choose to fly Sun Country was because of the competitive prices offered, but at the price I am now being forced to pay, I could have flown on Northwest for less.

Suncountry Airlines has had no interest in taking care of this problem, not even offering the $140 in travel vouchers.

This kind of thing happens all of the time, and in no way should Sun Country be blamed for your computer problem, you sick freak...
