Ray's Pool Cleaning Complaint - Report On Bad/inadequate And Destructive Service
HERNANDO, FLORIDA -- Ray's Pool Cleaning was hired to do weekly cleaning and chemical checks for the swimming pool in the house we just bought. We fired the company after only two visits. We were told the company had serviced the pool for the previous owner. Therefore we continued the association. On the second visit the employee used what appeared to use a sharp object on a long pole to "jab" at the sides and bottom of the pool. After "jabbing" at a certain spot on the bottom, pieces of the marcite surface began floating in the water and the base concrete appeared. The employee said everything was fine; nothing to worry about. Within the next week the pool leaked nearly 2 feet of water depth. Opinions were given by other area companies that perform the same service and we were advised the pool had been damaged and it would be best to resurface it.
Due to Ray's negligence the cost for this repair will exceed $2000.00. We were also advised the "skimmer filter was filthy and had not been changed in months", the pump system and salt filtration were is disrepair.
These are all things that if properly performed should have been detected by Ray's in their normal servicing. It appears they had not been taking care of the pool as the previous owner had thought.
