Rodeo Ford Plano Complaint - Ah...The price is.....

Review by Louie in TX on 2008-05-12
PLANO, TEXAS -- I checked Rodeo Ford’s website for used cars. I noticed a PT Cruiser, viewed the pic's on-line (including the cost) and drove to the dealer site. When the sales rep approached me. I inquired about the price. He quoted twice the amount that was posted on their own website. I left and called back, asking for the internet director. He came on, confirmed price stated on website. Told me how much value they place on credibility and reputation. Then passed me to the internet rep.
When I described my recent trip to their dealership. She said the sales reps did not have access to the internet, did not know the inventory or pricing? Righttttttttttttt! And these are the people you have greet/meet prospective customers.

The dealership called back in the afternoon after they had a pow-wow. You guessed it…wanting to sell me the PT Cruiser.

Lesson learned: Do your homework on-line before you step foot onto a dealership.
No Sale...

I'm sorry to say that is a common situation these days. The internet dept is different, but the inventory is shared by both areas. If you don't talk to the right guy your not going to get the right price. Credibility probably is zero but I had almost the same thing happen to me.

You have to understand how things work sometimes...Prices do get changed without the salespeople's knowledge (on the internet) for obvious reasons...internet business is very price driven...I realize the prices should always be consistent--but unfortunately some "slip through the cracks." I don't think its a matter of creditability or malicious intent--it just happens sometimes.
