Dish Network Complaint - Dish Network Took $400 Without My Consent
PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON -- I cancelled my subscription last month, the person that I spoke to on the phone said nothing about returning the equipment/fees for not doing so, only that I would be charged an early termination fee, which I payed. I received an empty prepaid box on 4/30 with instructions on returning equipment. I sent the equipment out the following Monday 5/4. That same day I received an overdraft notice from my bank, which turned out to be a $298 charge from DISH processed on 5/4. It turns out that they took over $400 in 3 SEPERATE transactions over the course of a week (1 for $99,$298,$2)without my knowledge.
When I called to find out why, they informed me why I was charged, I told them that I returned the equipment and offered to give them the UPS tracking number to prove it, they told me I had to wait until they received the equipment. It took a week for the equipment to travel from WA to TX, so it arrived on 5/12. Meantime, my bank is charging me $10 per day for the overdraft. I called on 5/12 and was told that they had received it but it would now be 2-4 days before they could return the money--nothing they could do about it.
Called back on 5/13 and was told that it would be 3-5 business days until I was reimbursed. I asked if that would be from the day they received it 5/12 and he said no, from today, 5/13--couldn't really say why that was or offer any acceptable solution.
AHHHHHH! I am so angry! Now I'm just waiting for them to tell me that the equipment is damaged or something stupid like that...
DON'T EVER GIVE DISH NETWORK YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!
