Sprint PCS Complaint - Invalid Rebate - Rebate On Phone Purchased Online
I ordered a new phone online with Sprint on 4/3/08 with a $50.00 mail in rebate. I received my phone the next day and all is well. The rebate has to be post marked by 5/3/08 in order to receive the rebate. I got busy with the kids and forgot, but I did mail it on 4/29/08. I got an e-mail yesterday to track the status of my rebate and it says "Your rebate cannot be processed because the postmark date is after the close of the offer". I know I shouldn't have waited so long, but I know that it was postmarked in time. So I call Sprint and after all the automation and the phone system telling me that they have no information for my phone number, I get a person. I tell the rep what the problem is and he says that it was too late. I said, okay, I want a copy of the postmarked envelope because I know it doesn't take that long for the post office to stamp it, and I think you're lying (I knew I wouldn't get a copy, but I was calling their bluff).
Then he says, I'm not lying, the envelope was postmarked April 30, 2008. AHA!! So I was right. I said, okay, so what's the problem? My rebate form says that it has to be postmarked by 5/3/08, I want my $50. Then he changes his tune. Since you are a valued Sprint customer, I will validate your rebate, and mail it out to you. This would normally take 30 days, but because you are so valued, you should get it in about 2 weeks.
Then he give me a confirmation number and says that since it is a manual number, it won't show up on the website for 30 days. (Funny, I should have my rebate by then) I will let everyone know if I get the rebate.
