Galloping Hills Inn Informative - Horrible Service
UNION, NEW JERSEY -- I held my wedding reception at the Galloping Hills Inn in Union, NJ. The basis of my complaint is regarding the service I received and leaking ceiling at the establishment.
On the day of the event, we had more guest than the expected number reserved to attend our reception. As a result we were asked to pay for the additional seats management requested, which we did not have a problem doing despite not having an official head count.
I do not believe we were the first and probably will not be the last wedding party that has gone over the number of confirmed guest.
We never refused to pay for the additional guest; impart it is why I do not understand [snip], the general manager behaved the way she did on that day. [snip] went as far to say, “You better go over there and open some of those envelopes,” as we were trying to resolve the issue of paying for the additional guest. Her comments were inappropriate stating that, she has never had to deal with people like us, in her years of service and her attitude was unacceptable. To make matters worst, during the middle of our ceremony, the ceiling began to leak and [snip] refused to address the situation.
The service I received was the last thing I would expect on my wedding day. As a result, I respectfully requested a partial refund for the unpleasant service and leaking ceiling. For nearly 3 weeks, my daughter and I have been trying to contact the owner, to rectify the situation in good faith.
I have tried to resolve my concerns with this business. I do not believe I am being unreasonable to request a partial refund because the ceiling was leaking during my reception service. I do believe that I deserve not only a refund but an apology in terms of the service that I paid for but did not receive - in addition to the inappropriate comments made by [snip] on the day of the event. It is inexcusable that the owner of the company would excuse the way [snip] reacted that day, and further more have the audacity to hang up on me when I tried to reach out to him – in order to rectify the situation. For all of the above reasons, I have decided to file a formal complaint against the Galloping Hills Catering Service.
