Chase Manhattan Bank Informative - Robbery - Visa Credit Card
I tried to make an online payment to my Chase credit card and was told I wasn't allowed since I'd already made a payment a few days ago. They wouldn't accept my money until after my due date, three days later. I called and the customer rep said I would also be charged a finance charge despite the fact I wanted to pay my bill and have every month in full.
When I asked if Chase ever warned the customers of this policy by mail or online, the rep said no and that it was my responsibility as a customer to investigate all the rules of each credit card. When I said this was not logical and bad business I was told it was not his problem. I said I would close my account since this felt like a trick to get me to pay a finance charge. I closed my account and the rep did not even care.
Do the Chase CEOs know about this? It's not just robbery, but very bad business. Didn't they just go in front of the Senate to answer charges of misleading and taking advantage of customers? I guess it's all true. Someone needs go make them pay! Cancel your credit card with Chase. I will report this to the Attorney General and any other organization. Believe me, it's not about the money, it's unethical and should be illegal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
