Sony Electronics Inc Complaint - Complaint regarding Sony Service Center
BRISTOL, PENNSYLVANIA -- My complaint is against the Sony Service Center located at 1501 Grundys Lane, Bristol, Pa 19007. I had sent the service center my satellite receiver along with $82.00 to have repaired. Hearing nothing since then I called today to inquire about the status of the unit. I was told that it had suffered a power surge burnout of the entire unit which it hadn't and that they would be unable to repair it. However, they were going to deduct a service charge of $26.00 along with a s/h fee of $12.00 to send the unit back to me. Even tho it only cost me $7.00 to ship it to them. I had explained to the customer service rep that it hadn't been a power surge and that the unit stopped working after a suggestion from a sony tech to do a hard reset. That entitles unplugging the unit, waiting two minutes, then plugging the unit back in. After doing that the unit wouldn't on. The tech then begin to go into a speech about power surges and said that was the cause of the problem. Getting no where with the tech I asked to speak with a supervisor who was about as bright as a burned out bulb. He repeated the same thing as the first rep and then added it was probably something more then just a power surge. Made no sense whatsoever. After being threaten with a complaint to the AG of PA he then agreeded to refund my entire amount of $82.00 and that I will believe when I see it. Sony now complains about having to layover 20,000 employees in order to make a profit. Seems to me if they treated their customers with respect and not make promises of repairing something when it seems they can't, they might make a profit. NEVER will I ever purchase another Sony product. The service center is a complete joke. The attitude of Sony is, "We got your money...so what!"
