Crazy Bob's Halloween Complaint - Manager told me my face is a costume already!

Review by billybob369@aol.com on 2003-10-30
LINCLON, NEW MEXICO -- Dear Sirs,

Last night my three children and I went to your store on Interstate 60 and Clearance Blvd. I was prepared to spend up to $200 on costumes for them for Halloween (which is tomorrow). But instead of getting the treatment I deserve, I was told by the manager(Thomas) that my face alone could be a costume. He thought he was being funny and I don't think he meant any harm, but he should know these scars are from a fire when I was a little girl, and my missing teeth stem from poor dental care as a child. I also suffer from "depigmentation", an incurable blotching of the skin. Please inform this young man that his comments were considered rude. That's why I left with my children without making a purchase (other than some makeup for my face). Furthermore, I have no intention of visiting your location as long as such cruel remarks will be tolerated.

I know the feeling. I'm 76, and have a condition that stops me from being able to put any kind of metal, including razors, up to my face. As a result I have a long white beard. You can guess what everyone calls me every time I go out.

Too incredable to be true. Which is ironic timing since this board has seen a wave of fake reports the last two weeks. Sounds like the "story teller" is back trying to get a rise out of us.

I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF FAKE REPORTS ON THIS WEBSITE. THIS IS PROBABLY NOT ONE OF THEM. RETAIL WORKERS ARE NOT KNOWN FOR THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOUNGER ONES TEND TO SPEAK THEIR MIND. THIS PERSON REALLY DOES SOUND LIKE A VICTIM AND IM SORRY SHE HAS TO ENDURE SUCH TREATMENT.

Your face is one thing, but forcing your children to participate in a demonistic holidy shows what kind of parent you really are!

I find it hard to believe that even after she was allegedly insulted, she bought something anyway...? Hmm.

I am the author of this article. The reason I bought facial makeup is only because it was nearly half the cost of what I usually spend at J.C. Penny. Also, the consistency was thicker. It had nothing to do with the poor service.

I think that comment was ignorant and cruel, and if the manager thinks it is okay to insult customers, maybe his superiors should be notified immediately of the situation. He is too immature to be a manager, and should be terminated.

I forgot to add a point here. I have a cell phone, and he would have been out of a job before I left that sorry store. My looks I can't help, but ignorance has no excuse.
