DHL Complaint - Incompetent And Rude
I am a shipping manager for a manufacturing company that uses many different carriers to deliver our freight. Of course, it is my job to get quotes on all shipments and then choose the most cost efficient carrier. DHL provided a rate quote of $438.65 (which of course is not guaranteed, but should be in the ball park as long as you're shipments weight and dimensions are accurate.) I never received and invoice from DHL for the shipment and trying to be professional, I contacted there Accounts Receivable department and asked for a copy of the invoice. The customer service representative said that she would send another invoice and verified my billing address.
About three weeks later, I receive an invoice originally sent to the wrong address that the post office forwarded to me. Of course, the invoice reads,several attempts have been made to collect this debt and that it must be paid immediately. The total amount of the shipment was $1,785.45. ????!!!!!!!! DHL charged one pallet at the rate of around $400 and the other pallet, (which was identical in dimension and weight), $1300.00. ??!!!!!!! Of course I disputed this with DHL for weeks. Every time I contacted DHL another representative gave me the run around and said they would look into it and never did I receive a call from DHL.
I continued to contact them, never did they contact me. Went from department to department, one rep said I had to send a letter on a company letterhead explaining the dispute. Another rep said e-mail and CC: all of these people, still no response. Until, of course I get the most bitter and rude collection agent calling my office demanding payment.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE DHL!!!! My employer finally settled at $859.00 which I believe is ridiculous. They would never have gotten a penny from me. They are unreliable and incompetent and completely full of it. BOYCOTT DHL!!!
