Super K-Mart Complaint - Accident at K-Mart in Gastonia
GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA -- Two years ago at this particular K-mart store that my parents frequently shopped at, a terrible thing happened. It was right after the 911 tragedy. My parents were walking down the aisle that had cases of motor oil stacked on them. The shelves were over-loaded and took that particular time to decide to fall. It fell on both of my parents. I thank God for the man and woman that helped them out of the aisle. My mother said that it was so loud when it broke loose from the wall, that she thought a plane had hit the building. My father had a cracked hip and my mother, a broken foot and a badly sprained foot. Neither were able to walk. The manager of the K-mart store offered to help them to their car so that they could drive home. The man and woman that rescued my parents insisted that they call an ambulance. I am writing this complaint because of the way this situation was handled by the staff at K-mart. My parents believed in K-Mart but now none of us will ever shop there again. No aging parents or anyone else should ever have to face that situation. In a case like that, they should have been given the attention that they needed. The manager should not have had to have been told to call for an ambulance. This could happen to anyone's parents, sisters, brothers, children, etc. I am voicing my opinion here because this event in our lives was very stressful, not only for them but for the rest of the family too. The biggest complaint that I have is the way the situation was handled. I can't respect any company that has to deal with the public in the manner in which my parents were treated. Thank you for reading my review and maybe this will help you at some time in the future.
