Best Buy Informative - Geek Squad Liars In Erie PA
ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA -- I bought a laptop from Best Buy in February of 2007. The LCD screen was damaged and I didn't buy the extra warranty plan (My mistake).
I went to the best Buy store and asked about getting it fixed. They informed me that the cost was a minimum of $500.
I decided not to get it fixed at that price and instead bought another laptop. 3 Months later I found a company on the net that sells the LCD screens. The screen was from HP ( I checked into this thinking it was probably a cheaper screen) Total cost was $155, including shipping. It took me 20 minutes to install (would have been quicker, but my eyes have trouble with the small screws).
I then went back to best Buy and asked why it would cost so much, while concealing the fact that I had bought one. They told me that the replacements cost near $500 after showing them my receipt they tried to claim it wasn't a genuine HP screen. I then showed them the serial number of the replacement and proved it was an actual HP screen. At this time they told me I wouldn't be able to install it as it took sensitive equipment to install and it was expensive and that might add to the cost. When I told them it was already installed they ask me to leave. I tried to find out why they had lied or at the least commented on an issue they had no knowledge of. They became irate and ushered me out.
Bottom line, The geek Squad at best Buy in Erie, are uninformed liars. the heavy set fella is the biggest liar! I will never go back. Buy your Computers and electronics on line its safer.
