Flexcar/Zipcar Complaint - Change of Terms
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Flexcar merged with a company called Zipcar in February. During this time, the users of Flexcar (the company being bought) endured the changes of the merger. For one week, there were no cars (I was told they were changing the fleets). I was told that we would receive a credit of $25 for this time since the company operates on a membership model. Next, the new company changed all the terms of the original membership agreement (ie late fees, reservation changes, mileage agreements, etc). Never was the consumer sent in writing the new agreement.
This is exactly like a phone company changing the terms of an agreement without you knowing it. I called to ask specifically what all these fees were from and if I could have a copy of the terms (he stated that the FAQs were the terms "online"). What are the requirements by state for rental car agreements?
