DirecTV Inc Complaint - Horrible Service - Very Poor Customer Service
MASSACHUSETTS -- Direct TV installed service in February, I had fine service until about May, it kept saying satellite searching for signal. I called direct TV up and had to pay $80.00 for a Tech to come out and attempt to fix the problem. The Tech that came out said the dish should never have been installed due to the fact that there is a huge tree in my neighbor’s yard blocking the main signal, and I was only getting signal before because there were no leaves on the tree. I called CS to look into getting a refund for the $80.00 due to the fact nothing was fixed... I paid someone to tell me that it should have never been installed?
After getting transferred person to person and finally a supervisor I was denied that credit. I then made several attempts to get a second opinion on maybe moving the dish, I waited two weeks for someone to come out and no one ever did. I finally was fed up of going without a month of being able to watch TV and decided to go with cable. I called up direct TV to cancel my service and they said it wasn’t their fault that the leaves are on the trees and I’m in a contract and have to pay an early termination fee for canceling ($400.00 fee). So I'm out $80.00 for someone just to tell me that the dish shouldn't have been installed, and now 400.00 because I didn't want to look at a blank screen that says searching for signal for a whole year!
I’m outraged on the customer service I was given, when I asked to talk to a supervisor the last time I called the rep would not transfer me he kept saying they’re going to tell you the same thing, I asked him a handful amount of times and he would not transfer me (probably because I wasn’t a customer anymore he could treat me like that). I'm considering getting an attorney involved. The Tec that came out said that they just throw dishes on houses to get paid when at times there may never me any signal. He told me I wouldn't have a problem canceling, that couldn't be farther from the truth!
