FotoConnections Complaint - Consumers Be Aware Of Fotoconnections Scam!

I ordered a Canon SD1000 camera from FotoConnections. After I submitted my online order, I received a message to call and “confirm the order”. The sales representative I talked to tried to make me buy extra battery, memory, case etc. He finally gave up trying to sell me useless stuff, after I told him that I already have the same camera and whatever is supplied in the original Canon box is perfectly adequate .

I received the camera Friday - what a disappointment:

1) The camera did NOT arrive in it's original box. It arrived in a box sealed as it seems in someone’s basement.
2) The camera has marks and scratches - definitely not a new product supplied by Cannon.
Might be a refurbished item - and it would have been perfectly all right to sell, if you would have only advertised it as such and not as a new one.
3) There was no memory card in the package.

I tried to contact Customer support on number of occasions: called them twice – after being for 10-20 min on hold, I would eventually get disconnected. E-mailed them (twice) – no response.

I am planning to contact Consumer protection and post my review on every site linked to FotoConnections.

Before any more time passes, dispute the charge with your credit card company, then send them a written (not email) letter stating that the item is not as advertised and that you are returning it.
